21 Days of Habits

I read that it takes 21 days to create a new habit, so I have finally been able to create a system to create small changes in my life. I posted this list in my room where I could see it everyday.

Starting July 14th, I began 5 small habits, and did them for 21 days.

  1. Read devotional and pray.
  2. Say my daily affirmation
  3. Call 2 people a day to develop a relationship
  4. Post daily to Craigslist about my business
  5. Watch a Ted Talk

After I had done this for 21 days, I kept doing them, and then I decided to add 2 more things on August 10th. This is 21 Days Part 2.

  1. Read devotional and pray
  2. Say my daily affirmation
  3. Call 2 people a day to develop a relationship
  4. Post daily to Craigslist about my business
  5. Watch a Ted Talk
  6. Blog My Notes Daily
  7. Post to Facebook daily, like and comment on my news feed, send 10 messages to 10 friends. Like and comment on the MLM Business page as well.

After August 30th, I will add a couple more things. So basically every 21 days, I will add something new to the list of things to do. This method of creating new habits will develop my network marketing business, but will always help me in several different areas of my life. It will change my career in musical theatre, my health, my relationships with other people, my spiritual life, and my overall confidence in myself. I think this method is great for anyone who wants to make changes in their lives.

I suggest you start small and continually add on new habits every 21 days. Mark your calendar with X’s each day that you do the activities on your list and don’t break the chain.

If you want to make major changes in your life, you will never just wake up one day and suddenly be different. You have to work on yourself daily to make permanent changes in your life. Focus on a few things at a time and don’t try to change everything at once.

Ray Higdon Tips on How to Become a Top Earner

Part 1: What you need to know BEFORE you prospect anyone.

  1. Consider this a long-term career- You have to think about Network Marketing as an actual career. It is not a get rich quick or a lottery ticket; it is a profession.
  2. You are NOT easily persuaded by the opinions of others.
  3. Embrace a daily routine

Part 2: How to Start with your Prospecting!

-You are going to have to get alot of No’s. You will have to get used to rejection.

-You don’t make money getting ready to get ready. You have to be willing to get out there and imperfectly move forward.

Warm Market

-Are your circle of friends business people? Does your warm market come to you for business advice? Tell them, “Hey, I’m doing this thing, I think it my be a fit for you, check it out.”

-If so, you are going to have an easy road to recruiting because they will listen to anything you say. However this is not duplicatable because most people don’t have those type of connections.

-At some point, you will get team members, who do not have those types of connections. If you are limited to teaching your recruits warm market, you are going to take people who could have had success and they will quit.

-If you have been in other companies, do not give warm market the money message. They won’t listen, they are burnt out. Say, “I know you have 0 interest in the business, but I think you might like the product.”

Cold Market

  1. There will always be more cold market than warm market. Always more people that you don’t know than you do know.
  2. Even if you have an amazing warm market, you are going to recruit people who don’t have a great warm market. If you are limited to teaching your recruits warm market, you are going to take people who could have had success and they will quit.
  3. Cold Market does not know your history.

Ray Higdon’s favorite line for cold market: “Hey, I got to jump on this conference call, but I’m just curious would you be open to a side project if it didn’t interfere with what you are doing?” Never say “Are you interested?”

-Prospect will ask “What is it?” Say, I’d be more than happy to let you know what it is, but unfortunately I have this conference call (you have to go do something). But let me get your information and I’ll follow up with you to see if this is a fit for you or not.

-If prospect says, “What is it? I won’t give you my number unless I know what it is.” You will say, “I got to jump on this conference call, if you don’t want me to take your information, it’s totally cool, have a nice day, it was good seeing you.” Don’t let cold market push you around.

Launch Call

A launch call is a great way for new prospects to let everyone know about their new business venture. A new distributor invites friends and family to the launch call and their sponsor hosts the call. The distributor follows up with the people who were on the call.

Steps for Launch Call

  1. Go to http://www.freeconferencecall.com. You will create an account on the website and you will be given a conference call number, access code, and host pin.
  2. Contact your sponsor and figure out a day and time that works for both you for to be available for the call.
  3. Contact all your family and friends to let them know about the call. Make a spreadsheet of all your family and friends’ names and keep track of who said they would get on the call and who said no.
  4. You will be introducing your sponsor on the call, so you will need to write an introduction. Run the introduction by your sponsor before the call. You will also need to close the call, so prepare what you are going to say.
  5. Send a reminder to all of the people who said they would be on the call about an hour before the call. Tell them to dial in 5 minutes early. Let them know to state their name and where they are from. Ask them to let you know if they got the message. Give them the conference call number and access code for the call.
  6. Dial in 10 minutes before the call. Welcome people on the call. Let them know the call will be starting soon. Start on time and begin your introduction of your sponsor. After the intro, your sponsor will take over the call. The sponsor will throw it back to you and you will close the call.
  7. After the call, follow up with the people who were on the call. Ask them what they liked about the call. Then, ask if they want some more information about it and send them your company video.
  8. Follow up again 24 hours later and ask what they liked about the video. If they liked the product, ask them if they would support your business by being a customer for a month. If they liked the business opportunity, ask them if they would be interested in becoming a distributor.
  9. Host 2 more launch calls. This will give your business the momentum to get it off the ground.

Writing a Daily Affirmation

One of my friends told me that she wrote a daily affirmation to say to herself everyday. I had never thought to do this, but I think it helps you to start your day with the right mindset. Many network marketers have stated in books and videos that they do something everyday to work on themselves so I suggest writing a daily affirmation. You can use books with daily affirmations, but I think it becomes more personal when you write your affirmation yourself. Only you know the person that you want to become and only you know the negative thoughts that you have been speaking to yourself and if you say a daily affirmation, you are talking to your sub-conscious mind as well. Change is difficult because we say we want to change but our sub-conscious mind does not want to change. We have many negative thoughts about ourselves and we have probably been feeding those negative thoughts for years. Speak good things about yourself regularly and catch yourself when you are not being kind to yourself. Be a good friend by being compassionate to yourself. So let’s get started everyone!

First, write down what you value and what person you would like to become. Then, write your daily affirmation. Post your daily affirmation where you can see it everyday. Recite the affirmation in the mirror in power stance with hands on your hips. Recite it with confidence and speak those words as if you truly believe them even if you don’t right now. One day you will believe those words and will be that person that you envision in your affirmation. Below is the daily affirmation I have said to myself since July 14, 2015:

“This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I am beautiful, talented, and committed to pursuing my goals. I will push past my fears to help other people overcome their fears and uplift their spirits. I will be a servant to others. I love the Lord, myself, and others wholeheartedly. I will meet my challenges, fulfill my purpose, have a positive attitude, choose to do the right things, believe in myself and others. I will commit to fulfilling my purpose during my time here on earth.

Ladies and gentleman, I am not the person in this affirmation yet, but I will keep saying this everyday so that I become the person that I hope to become someday.

Overcoming Fear With A Little Help From A Friend

I started my 90 Day Run today and I am really excited to launch my new business venture. A 90 Day Run is a burst of hard work and energy to really get your network marketing business off of the ground. I will elaborate further about the 90 Day Run in a future post.

One of the first steps to success in network marketing is changing your mindset and overcoming fear. Overcoming fear is difficult, but with the support of a great friend, anything is possible.

Many people have friends, which is great, but there are those special friends that really bring out the best in you. I made a friend who loves me enough to tell me the truth when I need it and pushes me to be my best. My friend helped me make calls this weekend and practiced with me so that I could overcome my fears of calling people. She critiqued me and encouraged me while I made those phone calls. I really needed that push to begin calling people and will now be able to make calls on my own.

In order to be successful in network marketing, I think everyone should have a friend like the one I described above. This doesn’t mean that your friend does your work for you and it doesn’t mean that you don’t take action to make your business successful. It means that having support from others in this industry is what makes it so special. Network Marketing is all about building relationships, making friends and helping those friends succeed and reach their personal goals. That’s all for now. Enjoy!
