Overcoming Fear- Fear is Fake!

quotes-of-fear-8

Hello Future Leaders,

I wanted to let you know that I decided to blog once a week for now and I will post every Sunday.  So far, I have posted many notes on my blog from webinars, books, and audios from top MLM earners. However,  I am going to make my blog more personal and document my journey to becoming a six-figure earner within a year and a 7-figure earner within two years. In this post, I will discuss FEAR.

One of my friend’s said that Fear is Fake. I had never heard this before, but I think fear is in your mind. I have constant fear, especially when talking to people, but I always feel better when I push myself out of my comfort zone. When I push past the fear, I usually feel more confident in myself and feel like I have accomplished something. But, even after proving to myself that I can talk to new people, I still have fear the next time I talk to someone new.

I teach private voice lessons and I notice that every time I go teach a voice lesson, I am nervous and fearful. Talking to people can bring so much fear in me because I care so much about what people think about me. However, I am learning that if I begin to focus more on the other person and less on myself, talking to people won’t be so scary. Network Marketing is really about helping other people so that lesson about focusing on the other person when talking is essential to building my business.

In network marketing, many top earners have done cold calls and one of the greatest techniques to deal with rejection when cold calling is to go for No’s daily. You set a goal of how many No’s you will get face-to-face or over the phone everyday. Ray Higdon went for 20 No’s a day and began earning $10,000 a month within 6 months of using this strategy.

During the last two weeks, I have been doing 20 to 30 No’s, but I have done them sporadically and not daily. I started off doing 30 No’s, then did 15 No’s on a couple days and a did 20 No’s a couple times this week. I sold some products and got many people who wanted to take a look at my business, including someone who I am meeting tomorrow evening.

Now, I do have to acknowledge that I wouldn’t have been making these calls at all even a month ago, so this is a start and you have to start somewhere. These are great results, but I am still letting my fear control my actions because I am not doing my No’s daily. I will make excuses in my mind, but it is really my fear taking over. I want to be successful like many people, who want to be successful! FEAR is the only thing standing in my way and other people’s way of reaching our full potential. If I want to take my business to the next level, I have to overcome my fear not once, not a few times, but DAILY. I never realized this before, but people who become successful in life have to overcome their fears over and over again. Successful people are always pushing themselves out of their comfort zone on a daily basis and are taking risks that most people will not take. The world can open some wonderful doors to those you knock on them. I have knocked on some doors, but I just have to do it consistently and with confidence.

Hope this helps you!!

The Foundation for Sponsoring Success-Simon Chan- My Notes Part 2

S.O.W.Sponsoring-System-Simon-Chan-network-marketing-training-transparent-1024x498

Your income is the average of the 5 people who you are around the most.

You must be consistent to do this business. Set the time and the amount of hours you want to work your business and do that DAILY. Prospect every day.

Everyone who stays in this business 5 years and does it consistently with the same company will be successful.

Simon’s Turning Point

  1. Prospecting everday
  2. 5/5/3- talk to warm market & leads
  3. Simon hid in his mom’s den and made calls. He was fearful of his mom listening to how he sounded making calls. He thought he sounded bad at first when he was new to prospecting, but overcome the fear, the more he did it.
  4. Self-Development

Read “Secrets to Closing the Sale” by Zig Ziglar

After 42 people, Simon got his first sign up. On average, if you talk to 100 people, at least 1 will sign up, so this was pretty good for him. Keep track of your numbers!

However, his first sign up never attended meetings, never replied back to his emails and quit after 2 months.

The turning point for Simon Chan was prospecting EVERYDAY!

Simon’s original sponsor was not really a leader. One day, his sponsor came to him and told him that the Ruby Director (Steve) in the company would be training Simon. He meets with the Steve and says he is so serious about building his business. But 2 hours later, Simon has a picnic with his girlfriend. Steve calls him and is appalled that he is having a picnic and not working the business. Steve told Simon that you have to work hard and told him that he didn’t deserve to work with him. Steve told him that if you are not doing 5,5,3, you are not serious. You have to work until you get your income goal. Steve would call him to ask what he was doing and Simon would not be working the business when the he would call him. Steve was teaching him for free, but he was getting on Simon’s nerves with his constant calling. Simon realized that Simon was the problem and not Steve. Eventually, when Steve would call, Simon would be happy because he was working his business. Simon did 3-way calls with Steve and his business took off. Meanwhile, his original sponsor quits and eventually gets terminated.

Your Magic Number: The number of people you need to talk to before you reach your financial goal. Example: If Michelle wanted to make $100,000, she needs to talk to 5,000 people to get to that goal. If Guillermo talked to one person a day, it would take 10 years to make $100,000. If he talked to 20 people a day, he could make $100,000 in 250 days.

Another way to reach $100,000 faster is to improve your sponsoring skills. Michelle could make $100,000 by talking to 1,000 people if she had better skills.

Two Things to Bring Your Magic Number Down

  1. Talk to more people
  2. Work on Self-Development

21 Days of Habits

tumblr_m0c7a0kA5C1qhvzsxo1_1280

I read that it takes 21 days to create a new habit, so I have finally been able to create a system to create small changes in my life. I posted this list in my room where I could see it everyday.

Starting July 14th, I began 5 small habits, and did them for 21 days.

  1. Read devotional and pray.
  2. Say my daily affirmation
  3. Call 2 people a day to develop a relationship
  4. Post daily to Craigslist about my business
  5. Watch a Ted Talk

After I had done this for 21 days, I kept doing them, and then I decided to add 2 more things on August 10th. This is 21 Days Part 2.

  1. Read devotional and pray
  2. Say my daily affirmation
  3. Call 2 people a day to develop a relationship
  4. Post daily to Craigslist about my business
  5. Watch a Ted Talk
  6. Blog My Notes Daily
  7. Post to Facebook daily, like and comment on my news feed, send 10 messages to 10 friends. Like and comment on the MLM Business page as well.

After August 30th, I will add a couple more things. So basically every 21 days, I will add something new to the list of things to do. This method of creating new habits will develop my network marketing business, but will always help me in several different areas of my life. It will change my career in musical theatre, my health, my relationships with other people, my spiritual life, and my overall confidence in myself. I think this method is great for anyone who wants to make changes in their lives.

I suggest you start small and continually add on new habits every 21 days. Mark your calendar with X’s each day that you do the activities on your list and don’t break the chain.

If you want to make major changes in your life, you will never just wake up one day and suddenly be different. You have to work on yourself daily to make permanent changes in your life. Focus on a few things at a time and don’t try to change everything at once.

I hope this helps!!
