Understanding What Your Prospects are Actually Buying-Simon Chan-MY NOTES

People Buy You Because

  1. They know you
  2. They like you
  3. They trust you

Letting People Know You

If you have a growing team, communicate with them through newsletters or weekly emails. In communication, there are 3 types of communication:

  • Relevant (related to topic)- 30%
  • Irrelevant (not related topic)- 60%
  • Sales-motivate to buy something- 10%

Share something that is irrelevant first, so you can catch their interest. Then, show the relevant content and then do the sales. Don’t start with sales because people don’t want to talk to you. Keep it fun because people don’t like to join boring things.

Importance of Self Concept

  1. Your confidence
  2. What you think of yourself
  3. Where you see yourself going
  4. The positivity you emit

Prospecting All Starts with You!

  • No Excuses
  • Get yourself to a happy and good mood
  • Law of Attraction (think of what you want)
  • Visualize your success

Why should you be happy? Because Your Prospects Want to Buy!

Prospecting Rule: Everyone Likes to Buy Things

It all starts with Mindset.

The better you feel about yourself, the more prospects will become attracted to you because you have a greater self-concept (confidence, feelings, positive energy).

When is the best time to make a sale? Immediately after you made a sale because you are feeling good and your self concept is at an all time high. Your confidence will be higher and people will be attracted to that. When you are confident, there is an increase in trust.

3 Doubts in Your Prospects Minds

  1. Is this for real?
  2. Can I do this?
  3. Will you help me?

It all starts with attitude. The better you feel, the better you do. Get yourself into a happy mind!

Quick & Easy Ways to Increase Your Self Concept

-Do something that makes you feel good before you prospect

-Take action & prospect immediately

-Do this exercise: Pound your fist and say “I am the best!” 10 times in a row

-Have a smile when talking on the phone

-You have more energy when you are standing up

Long-Term Ways to Increase Your Self Concept

How to Increase Your Self Concept

-Reflect on your past successes

-Listen to motivational audios

-Read about other success stories

-Attend Events- Go to your training sessions, talk to other successful people

-Build your 4 beliefs

Build Your 4 Beliefs

-Belief in Industry

-Belief in Company

-Belief in Products

-Belief in Yourself

As your Beliefs increase, your confidence will increase and thus your self concept will increase.

Law of Attraction

What you think is what you get! You attract positive when you think positive. You attract negative when you think negative. Be careful what you feed your subconscious mind.

Always think the person is going to pick up the phone because if you think they will not pick up the phone, your energy will be lower and you sound caught of guard if they do answer the phone.

Don’t ask a prospect if they looked at the information. Ask the prospect what they like best about the information that you sent them.

Personality Gems

Sapphires– they are motivated by fun and they like socializing. Tell them to meet you 30 minutes earlier than you need because they tend to be late.

Pearls– they are motivated by helping other people. They are very thoughtful and sympathetic, nurturing and patient, have the gifts of mercy and service. Sense when someone is being fake, appreciates personal touch, but has to stop supporting the wrong people and allow them to deal with their own consequences. They are the best listeners.

Emeralds-they are motivated by facts and figures, they are punctual, orderly, and super-organized. They are weak in communication, can be judged as insensitive and cold-hearted, usually asks why, are perfectionists and want to figure out everything before they start, which can be a hindrance to their success. They are analytical, fact-based and can be more productive if they remember it is not about perfection, it is about getting the job done with results. They keep their word.

Rubies– they are motivated by challenges and like the best of everything; very outspoken and very bold; very direct and to the point; very productive and get more done in one day than anybody else, not afraid of taking risks, has to be number one.

Sharing Ideas with Gems

  • Keep it upbeat and keep it simple.
  • Love to meet face to face
  • Keep everything positive
  • Allow them to experience the product

  • Talk to them face to face or over the phone.
  • Make appointment on their turf
  • Tell them how something helps them or their family
  • Tell stories and listen
  • Ask if they have questions, keep control of the converstaion

  • Have all materials and information available to them; phone email and websites are best.
  • Tell stories of who had favorable results with your product, service or idea.

  • Be sharp and concise, fast
  • Tell why it its the best
  • Offer short testimonials
  • Be results oriented
  • Keep putting their goals in front of them.

Employee-preneur– invest their heart and souls into the job. Mindset that they want to get paid for results. You grow in a job by influencing the people around you, not just the customers, but the people you work with as well. Everyone sells; edify your employers and co-workers.

Change your mindset and contribute to your company. 98% of people wait for their work to bring them satisfaction. 2% of people find satisfaction by giving their work their best. Influence your Environment, solve problems, increase your value, do not think of your work as just a job, you are a partner on a team and you want the team to be successful.

Start as an Entrepreneur: Ask questions and encourage the prospects to talk about themselves. Find people who have what you want and do what they do.

Law #11: The Law of Decision– There is something powerful that takes place in you when you get to the point of making a decision and following through with it. It’s when we leave room for excuses that we fail.

Law #12: The Law of Action– When you immediately follow your decisions with action, a funnel of favor begins. Doors open, action is now.

Honor Your Prospects: Honor them by FORMING them; getting them to talk about themselves and listening. Make them feel special and important. The script needs to put focus on the prospect. Ask questions.

Control the Conversation: When you give your clients what they want, they give you what you want; more business. Let them sell you rather than you sell them.

Sell the Results: You have to create results and then your reputation will spread.

Start where you are: You do not have to love what you do, start where you are. Teachability is key to long-lasting success as an entrepreneur.

Change your Environment: You are influenced by your environment; surround yourself with success-minded people who will help you grow between poverty and wealth.

How you manage your home and household is how you’ll manage your company. Continually invest in your skills because you never know when you might have to launch a new business. When starting a business, you are volunteering your time.

Focus on Results: Have a “no excuse” mindset. If you produce results, you raise your value, which means you raise your pay. Drive is actually getting it done and getting it done NOW.

The Four Year Career- My Notes

Four Year

Network Marketing Qualities

-You must be assertive

-You must have confidence

-You must be dynamic in your ability to express yourself.

-You must have enough resources to propel yourself through the challenges.

-Any art requires 10,000 hours of actual practice to master it. That’s 2 hours a day, six days a week, 50 weeks a year for the Four Year Career.

Network Marketing Terms

Wholesale Customer- someone who gets involved to use the products and buy them at the same price that higher-volume distributors would pay.

Retailer- a distributor who focuses their efforts on just selling the products.

Network Marketing Leader- wholesale customer, a retailer, and someone who understands the income opportunity well enough to add selling it to their mix. Can enroll as many as 100 people or more. You must be able to enroll lots of people to sell with you and motivate the group to continue growing.

Network Marketing is using and recommending the product and finding many others who do the same.

Three Basic Activities Required to Create Your Four Year Career

  1. Use: Use company’s products in as many way as possible. Create your own best product story, then you won’t be selling, just telling your story.
  2. Recommend: Don’t sell the product here. Listen to the people around you and listen to their problems. Let them decide if it is right for them. Don’t sell or argue with customers, just recommend it. This is how successful Network Marketers establish lots of customers over time without being a nuisance.
  3. Invite: this is like recommending the product, only you are inviting them to “just” take a look at the income opportunity using tools such as a brochure or website.

Master of inviting = Mastering the Four Year Career

Keys to being an effective inviter:

-Be convinced yourself in your product, company & network marketing

-Be interesting- Ask curiosity questions & listen. Make it all about them and they will be honored and become interested in you.

-Mastery comes with practice: 10,00 hours of practice might convert to 5,000 conversations over four years.

-You are not in the game unless you are inviting new people to look everyday, every week.

-Stop thinking, worrying, avoiding it and getting organized to do it. Take action! Two a day and 10 in play is the perfect plan. Invite 2 new people everyday and follow-up on the last 10 you invited until they say “Yes” or “No”.
